Google Maps just added a "public transportation" feature.
It'll give you bus routes.

Google Maps also has a new widget.
You set up the widget with an address, then it's on your desktop as a traffic light.
Touching it will give you traffic info for the route there, as a red, yellow or green light.
Then touching it again will bring it up on a map.
Like I have one for work, and one for home. It takes a second to get traffic info for my commute.
