While I was in Paris I got a chance to try a new (to me) style of beer called Faro. For some reason I've never found it around where I live, but after my samplings, I will definitely be on the lookout for some now and may have to order some.

Beer Advocate defines a Faro as "A blended Lambic with the addition of candi sugar for a lighter, quite sweet and more palatable beer. Commonly spiced with pepper, orange peel and coriander." It is a very dark, very sweet beer. Like a piece of pie in a glass.

I tried two variations while I was there. The Lindemans and the St. Louis (both are Belgium breweries) and I found both to be quite tasty. They aren't a daily drinker, but very unique and enjoyable.
This sounds like something I would really enjoy.

This weekend was my first taste of Lindemans. Mixed it with some local brewery's Chocolate Stout. Good stuff.
