A little guide of a sampling of who I like and don't like.
Like: Avenged Sevenfold, Poison, Bouncing Souls, Anti Flag, Ramones, Nine Inch Nails, Bad Religion, David Guetta, Cascada, Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Misfits, Dropkick Murphys, GNR, Biggie Smalls.
Basically punk and some rock with a smattering of hip hop and club.
HATE: Tool, Primus, Tool, Motorhead, Tool, Justine Bieber, Tool, Miley Cyrus, Tool, Kelly Clarkson, Tool, anyone from American Idol and Tool.

Poison - Legendary Party band
Bouncing Souls - who cares
Anti Flag - Punk sucks
Ramones - So overrated it's a joke.
Nine Inch Nails - A good song here and there, but also over rated.

Shinedown, Godsmack, Disturbed, Tool, Rev Theory, Hinder, Black Label Society, Theory of a Deadman, Buck Cherry, Staind, Hollywood Undead,
Old Heavy Metal:
Metallica, Megadeath, Anthrax, (Not Motorhead)
Hair Bands are awesome.
As for the Hits 1 type stuff I'd say:
Bruno Mars, b.o.b., Paramore, Paper tongues
Classic Rock:
I like most classic rock. Queen, Aerosmith, Doors, Eagles, Beatles, lynyrd skynyrd, zz top, Pink Floyd, Boston, etc.
Don't like:
Punk, Jazz, Rockapella

Punk is fun if you are drunk. I don't like jumping around. I like music for the MUSIC, not because it makes me jump around.
